Welcome to our site!

Today we are 16w4d with triplet boys! I wanted to start a blog/journal for my family so they can go back and read all of the milestones and events that have happened and are yet to happen. The Crenshaw3 all started back in November of 2006 where my husband and I decided to try IVF prior to adoption. It had been 3 years of trying before we found out I had endometriosis and would not be able to conceive without a little help from God given scientific talent. It was our 1st try at IVF and needless to say, it was successful. We had two 5 day blastocysts implanted and for the first 4 sonograms believed that only the 2 had taken.

At our 5th sonogram (Ash Wednesday 2007), we found our #3. He had come out of hiding. I remember the day so vividly. The technician asked "so how many are you expecting" and Jeff and I said "two". She then said "well what if I told you there was a third one?". We said "no way, unless one of the eggs split!" Well, that is what happened. We had just learned that we had a pair of identical twins and one fraternal (triplets!!). Oh boy, I was shaking and crying. All I could think about was their health and I was so scared for all of us. This was my very first time being pregnant and I was terrified.

After the initial shock wore off (about 2 weeks) I was able to concentrate on getting to the next milestone, an amniocentisis to determine the sex and to see if we had any challenges on the way. After so heavy discussions, my husband and I decided against the amnio and were just going to move ahead without knowing anything. Well on Monday, March 19th, we found out that we were having 3 boys! They were so good, they just basically "sat" down for us so we could see everything! We are scheduled to go in every 2 weeks from here until 20 weeks or so and then we move to every week. We are considered a high risk pregnancy, so we have to be monitored frequently.

I will try to figure out how to post the sonograms and pictures on the site soon for all to enjoy. I should be posting more in the future. Stay tuned.
